Flower Care Tips
Key points for cut flower care:
Clean vase:
Always use a clean vase to prevent bacteria growth.
Trim stems:
Before placing in the vase, cut the stems at a diagonal angle to maximize water uptake.
Remove leaves:
Take off any leaves that would fall below the waterline as they can decay and contaminate the water.
Flower food
:
Use flower food packets if provided with the bouquet to nourish the flowers and inhibit bacteria growth.
Water changes:
Regularly change the water in the vase to keep it fresh and prevent bacterial buildup.
Cool location:
Place flowers in a cool area away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Remove wilted flowers:
Regularly remove any flowers that are starting to wilt to maintain the overall appearance of the arrangement.
Do not:
Put flowers near fresh fruit as it releases ethylene gas which can shorten their lifespan.
Use tap water with high mineral content
Place flowers in a draft
Spray flowers directly with water as it can promote fungal growth
